Gamble on love

You’re in luck. Because this real life formal session is off-the-charts rad. From the stellar Salt Flats to the cool casino, it’s a total ride. (Not to mention their sweet red ride bursting with fab florals!)

Real bride Loren is of Loren B. Photography fame. She is a dearly-beloved #UVBvendor, so it was extra fun seeing her in front of the camera (with Aubree Belle Photography slaying).

Oh, and her gown from the The Bridal Studio? A shimmering success.

Come along for the ride, won’t you?

Mr. Sandman understood the assignment. Because this sandy session? A literal dream. Christian and Taylor are chic and gorgeous — and every image from Jordan Bree Photography is a vision.

Fun fact! Shortly into their formals, an insane wind storm hit the dunes! The moms surrounded Taylor (protect the bride at all costs!), while the photo party was showered with sand. Utah weather can be a (literal) whirlwind, but these two were total troopers.

Join us for a scroll, won’t you? Come for the fierce fashion. Stay for the magic moments.

Meg + Darrell

It’s Magazine Monday! And today we have a closer look at the wedding of cover girl Meg Ricks from our 2022 glossy pages. Don’t miss this one, friends. It’s a keeper.

Meg Ricks and Darrell Hanks’ romance came alive in the city that never sleeps. Darrell was working as an investment banker in New York City, while Meg was modeling and dancing with the Radio City Rockettes. They noticed each other at church, followed each other on Instagram, and became fast friends. “We would help each other through dating struggles,” says Meg, who grew up in Provo. “I even remember telling him once, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll find an amazing girl to marry one day!’” After a few months, they began dating. And when Covid brought them both back to Utah, their friendship became a foundation for love.

The proposal took place in front of the picturesque Brooklyn Bridge. Darrell came out of nowhere and popped the question. “HE NAILED THE PROPOSAL, OMG,” Meg says. “Everyone on the pier started clapping and someone shouted, ‘SHE SAID YES!’”

Meg has been planning her wedding since she was a little girl. She and her friends even used to play wedding planner. So now that the ring was on her finger, Meg vowed to wow. With the help of planner extraordinaire Sinclair and Moore, Meg’s 3D floral vision came to life. Every detail was as thoughtful as it was beautiful.

“The band, the people, the gorgeous white dance floor, the lighting, all of it was just a dream and made for the best party ever,” Meg says. “I was BEAMING and honestly didn’t have a care in the world except for what was right in front of me. I had the time of my life! I never wanted it to end.”

The minute Meg found her dream dress at Alta Moda Bridal, her wedding vision became clear. She was in love with the 3D floral applique and wanted to bring that into a variety of wedding details — the flowers, the cake, the veil, the wedding party attire. “My dress was whimsical, classic and feminine,” Meg says. “I’m literally obsessed with it.” Meg originally planned on having a sit-down dinner, but the Ricks family motto of “no person left out” meant the guest list was always on the rise. They instead wowed guests with an elevated garden dining experience at the Ricks’ Provo home. Sinclair and Moore, along with caterers Marco and Aubrey Niccoli of a m. niccoli, pulled it off deliciously.

Meg and Darrell were sealed in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple. That night, they gathered their nearest and dearest to celebrate amidst perfect petals and luminous lights. “The lights added such a fairy tale ambiance and were designed to match the sparkle tulle on my dress.” The cake was, as Meg says, “INSANE.” Five tiers of divinely delicate layers. As a former BYU Cougarette, Meg’s epic party was bursting with music and dancing. Throughout the evening, guests were greeted and treated to a string quartet, a classical pianist, and the band Changing Lanes. From the choreographed daddy-daughter dance to the DJ’s dance battle for the boys to Meg kickin’ it with her girls, the moves were on point.

Gabby + Dalton

It’s Magazine Monday — on a Tuesday! (Thanks to Utah’s Fall Break.) And today we have a closer look at the gorgeous nuptials of Gabby + Dalton from our 2022 glossy pages. Don’t miss it!

Gabby Schmidt and Dalton Cline’s love started the way so many modern romances do — a dating app. Gabby is originally from Las Vegas, and Dalton is from St. George. They were both living in Provo when they went on their awkward first date. When Dalton moved back to southern Utah, they kept in touch as friends. It wasn’t until they did a pandemic “FaceTime Date” that sparks flew. “We ended up talking for four hours,” Gabby says.

When it was time to propose, Dalton took Gabby to a beautiful restaurant overlooking Zion National Park. She was a little disappointed he didn’t propose at dinner, but then they went to a friend’s house where Dalton pulled out all the stops. He set up a darling picnic, marquee letters, and friends and family were waiting inside to celebrate with them.

A true wedding planning highlight for Gabby was getting her dream dress at Pritchétt Bridal. The original design had a plunging neckline and open back, but the pros at Pritchétt personalized it to perfection. Her dad had been serving in the military in Afghanistan for two years, and when he saw her in her gown for the first time, “many tears were shed.”

With a dreamy red rock landscape, Gabby and Dalton said “I do” in a beautiful backyard ceremony followed by a sealing at the Las Vegas Nevada LDS Temple a few weeks later.

The more personal the details, the sweeter the celebration. Gabby’s ring was custom-made with her grandma’s diamond, and her cake was made by her mother-in-law. The nephews driving a mini Lamborghini down the aisle sped right into their hearts. “I saw the idea on TikTok and it turned out so stinking cute,” Gabby says. That adorable moment — and every other — was magically captured by Whitney Hunt Photography. “My girl! She made everything run smoothly and granted every picture wish.”

Casual. Colorful. Chic. Charming.

Natalie and Austin’s wedding is a backyard beauty. Bursting with love and joy, every image practically dances off the page. From the hanging cranes to the bagel station to the larger-than-life bouquet, we fell in love with these two lovebirds the moment we saw them.

Now kick off your shoes (like they did on the dance floor!) and scroll your heart out.

She thought his hair was too long. He thought she looked like trouble. The perfect beginning of a love story. Jessica + Brandon’s day, hosted at Cactus and Tropicals in Salt Lake City,  was full of wide smiles and big laughs! The groomsmen added to the laughter when they handed the groom silly gifts – including a toy dinosaur and snake – as they stood at the altar. But the comedy only added to the magic of the occasion!

The bride wore a dazzling dress from Boda Bridal (a #UVBVendor!) and later kicked her heels off to get down on the dance floor. At the end of the night, Jessica + Brandon were sent off with cheers and sparklers.

Together is the best place to be and this couple proves it! Melinna and Zeus grew up in El Paso, Texas. After high school, Zeus moved to Utah and Melinna went to college. When the pandemic hit, Melinna came to Utah and they decided to take a leap of faith and start an online candy business together: Trendy Treats. Their business and their love grew exponentially and they made the sweet decision to get hitched!!

With so many friends and family coming to Utah for the wedding, they wanted to pick a venue that showed off their home state. Wadley Farms was the perfect fit. Melinna loved how they were able to have three unique scenes within Wadley Farms. The gardens for the ceremony, the castle for the reception, and the vineyard for the sparkler exit!

Dust off those boots and get ready to party because this beautiful bride got married!

We love when brides stay true to who they are, even on their big days. Alycia did just that. The couple’s wedding was a mix of southern roots and mountaintop magic. Alycia incorporated traditions from her southern upbringing in Louisiana with matching parasols, shrimp and grits, and even an impressive Mardi Gras King cake! At the end of the night, the bride grabbed her light-up sneakers and hit the dance floor surrounded by friends and family.

From her elegant dress to her hand-crafted earrings, art was in every detail of Sarai and Frank’s wedding day!

Sarai’s earrings were handmade by her friend Ariane Ezeh with Akissi Jewelry. “It was so special wearing a piece handmade for me and my special day,” Sarai says.

And those dreamy princess sleeves?! An alteration done by Nicole at Gabardine Alterations. “I loved that Nicole made my sleeves snap-on, so I was able to take them off for my send-off. It was beautiful!”

There’s nothing sweeter than the road to love!

Brynnlee and Colbey’s wedding day style was bohemian, from her gown to her locks. The vivid florals with bursts of yellow and orange were a perfect pair for a macrame backdrop. And how about that red Corvette?! First of all, yes. Second of all, YES!
