Humera and Aadel’s vibrant vows make our hearts burst. We are seriously smitten with the dynamic delicacies, stunning setting and kaleidoscopic fashion. After reading Humera’s Most Marry Moments, scroll through the photos of this fabulous family affair.

Best Bite “Mango Kulfi by our caterer Zabiha Grill was perfect for our summer wedding!”

Darling Date “One of my favorite dates was when Aadel went above and beyond to plan the most memorable Valentine’s day. He pretended he forgot it was Valentine’s day and convinced me he didn’t make any plans for us. Later that evening, he surprised me with three dozen roses and a basket full of thoughtful gifts. He wrote five Valentine’s Day cards, which he gave me at different times during the evening. He gave me a custom heart-shaped cake, and he took me for an incredible candlelight dinner! I was blown away by all the surprises!”

Divine Decor “After our ceremony, we released 22 doves that served as a breathtaking surprise for our guests and family.”

Sensational Seams “I went to India to shop for my wedding dress. After days of scanning the colorful markets and beautiful boutiques in Hyderabad, I instantly fell in love with a pink-colored lehnga with detailed design and handwork completed by the best local artisans of Hyderabad. I loved the bold modern color and detailed handiwork of my dress!”

Vowza Venue “After exploring many venues in Salt Lake City, I fell in love with the Utah State Capitol due to its immaculate architectural design and perfect location. The rotunda, stairs and just the site of the capitol as you land in SLC took my breath away.”

April 18, 2015 // Caroline Carter + Landon Brumm

For Caroline Carter, it was love at first sight. And she first laid eyes on her future husband, Landon Brumm, in her high school honors English class. Caroline was a sophomore, while Landon was a senior teacher’s aide. “I loved him, and everyone in the class knew,” Caroline says. “I went to lengthy efforts to try to talk to him, and I made sure I saved all my good outfits for days when I had English.” Landon was equally smitten, yet hesitant because she was so much younger than he was. But good things come to those who wait. Years later, after Landon returned from his LDS mission, he took Caroline on a date to the aquarium. They hit it off, and five months later, Caroline’s crush became her fiancé. The proposal happened when his family invited her to the Dominican Republic to visit Landon’s mission area. The day she arrived, they went to a gourmet restaurant and Caroline’s dinner plate came out with a ring box on top of it. She totally said yes — which you totally already knew — but Caroline had no idea it was coming. “Talk about a complete shock!” she says. “I couldn’t catch my breath the entire night.” With a ring on her finger, Caroline chose her venue and photographer as easily as she fell for Landon. And the rest of the details fell perfectly into place. Best moment of the day? “Becoming the love of my life’s wife,” Caroline says. “It was just so full of love and happiness, it felt like a dream.”

GET THE PICTURE For Caroline, wedding planning was more fun than stressful. She made photography her top priority — and selected the impeccable Alixann Loosle to capture her day. And then she relied on her loved ones to help with the details. “I had a lot of love and support,” she says. “Wedding planning really is just like planning a huge party for everyone you love!” With that help from family, Caroline added a handmade touch to her favors — she burned designs into wooden utensils for her guests to take home. “It felt so personal and special to me,” she says. Caroline opted for a timeless neutral color palette, which she incorporated into her tablescapes, florals, wedding party attire, goodbye ribbon wands and more. “I didn’t want to look back at my wedding pictures and regret any particular color,” she says.

SURPRISE SEAMS Caroline’s wedding gown took her by surprise. She had always dreamed of a flowy, bohemian look, but when she tried on her Claire Pettibone dress, she knew it was the one. “The second I tried it on, I finally saw a bride,” she says.

Something old, something new, something blush, something blue.
From their classically beautiful color palette to the sweet display of family heirlooms, we are entirely charmed by Aubrey and Brian’s winsome wedding. Swoon with us over the bride’s Most Marry Moments:

Divine Décor “Our grandmothers’ wedding dresses. Our wedding colors were ivory, blush pink, navy, and a light vintage blue. Brian’s grandma’s dress was navy blue, and my grandma’s dress was blush pink, so they were the perfect colors to be on display. We loved honoring our grandmas who had passed away by displaying their dresses.”

Best Bite “We had carving stations with the best hand-carved sandwiches from State Street Feed and Supply Caterers . The roasted turkey breast with raspberry sauce and apple chutney was the best!”

Vivacious VendorForge Jewelry Works. The owner Shawn was so helpful. They can custom design any ring on the computer right in front of you. It was fun selecting our rings and being able to personalize them.”

Alluring Accessory “My headpiece from Avenia Bridal. It added just the sparkle I needed.”

Vowza Venue “My favorite thing about Sleepy Ridge was the outdoor patio. I loved that the guests could be inside or outside and could walk in through the flower path along the side.”

In the mood for something delicious? (We knew you’d say yes!) Scroll through Audrey and Jon’s lovely day filled with sweetly toned décor and spicy Latin American cuisine.

And speaking of delicious, Audrey’s Most Marry Moments are quite delectable.

What are you waiting for? Eat up!

Sensational Seams “I loved my all-lace wedding dress, but my favorite thing about it was my small rose gold belt that tied in the back. It broke up the lace and was the perfect accent to the dress.”

Vivacious Vendor “Our photographer, Alixann Loosle. She was so fun and easy to work with, and I loved her soft, romantic style of photography. She had a very natural style and put us both at ease in front of the camera.”

Best Bite “I loved the Mexican and Latin American themed food we had at our wedding. It was something unique and different—and represented the love Jon and I have for all things Latin American. During our honeymoon in Mexico it constantly reminded me of the food at our wedding — especially the Horchata!”

Alluring Accessory “It was a subtle accessory, but I loved my hairpiece. It had pearls and pearl flowers that went perfectly with my dress.”

Darling Date “Jon and I went on our very first date over 5 years ago to Pizzeria Seven Twelve. It was a delicious meal and lasted over 4 hours! Now we go there for special occasions and with our families, so it’s easy to remember how special that date was for us.”

Most Memorable Moment “Being presented to family and friends as husband and wife for the first time!”

June 20, 2015 // Anna Smith + Adam Jorgensen

Anna Smith and Adam Jorgensen met on a high note. They were extras on the Provo set of Imagine Dragon’s “On Top of the World” music video. He thought she was confident. She thought he was cute.  And they were off to a flying start. When the courtship turned serious, Anna was serious about being surprised. “My one requirement was I had to be surprised when he proposed, and he pulled it off!” she says. To pop the question, Adam, quite fittingly, went to the top of the world. On a hot air balloon ride — with incognito videographers in tow — he gave her a blue Tiffany and Co. box and red Valentino heels with “Marry me?” inscribed on the sole. The soul mates were set — and wedding planning began. Anna originally wanted a blush wedding, but quickly scrapped it (“Too boring,” she says). So she chose blush … and red … and yellow … and aqua blue. “I definitely got some funny looks when I told people my colors, but I just had to keep telling myself to be confident.” In the end, that confidence paid off. Their wedding was a classic, timeless affair with a colorful twist. And despite the extreme heat, Anna remained out-of-this-world cool. “The day was perfect. Everything ran smoothly and everyone was just so happy,” she says. “It’s so easy being a bride! Happiest day of my life.”

GET THE PICTURE Anna’s bright, beautiful day at the Utah State Capitol was accompanied by the most delicious of details. “When I was in kindergarten, my dad had to bribe me with a chocolate donut to get me to go to school. Flash-forward to when I was dating Adam, I told him that my favorite thing in the world was a chocolate donut. One day, he surprised me by picking up one, but he got it wrong and brought a red velvet chocolate donut instead. I decided I liked this new donut even better — and I never corrected him,” Anna says. “He brings me red velvet donuts to cheer me up, to end an argument, and to celebrate accomplishments, so we obviously had to have them at our wedding. Culinary Crafts knocked it out of the park. It was such a special element to us.”

DREAM GIRL Anna has been dreaming about her wedding since she was little girl. So when the time came to plan, she planned to be prepared. “I had so much fun planning our wedding. I miss it. I loved seeing all my hard work pay off.”

June 12, 2015 // Ashlee + Christian

Orem’s Ashlee Ellsworth and Christian Stewart met over Spring Break in high school, but they were both dating other people at the time. They then dated off and on at BYU (where Christian was a quarterback for the Cougars), but despite mutual interest, the timing was never quite right. That is, until the couple’s family got involved. “I ran into Christian’s sister and she told me I needed to marry her brother,” Ashlee says. “And my mom had always been a big fan of Christian because she was roommates with his mom at BYU.” Mother knows best, right? Ashlee took her advice and reached out to Christian. They started dating again, and their timing finally scored a touchdown. When it came time for wedding planning, Ashlee knew exactly what she wanted. Armed with a Pinterest board and a binder of magazine pages she had been collecting since junior high, she planned her heart out — and let her impeccable vendors do the rest. “We were able to enjoy every part of the day! My cheeks were sore by the end from smiling so much.”

GET THE PICTURE A glamorous white tent adorned with chandeliers and birdcages allowed the venue’s natural beauty to shine through while creating the romantic vibe Ashlee had envisioned. Sweet stems from Tinge Floral sealed the deal. “The flowers were the best decision I ever made,” she says. “Besides Christian, of course!” The cake? A collaboration between Christian and Ashlee — she chose the ivory buttercream and he chose the funfetti flavor. Vanilla, salted caramel and fresh raspberry macarons matched the color palette and edible glitter gave them a touch of golden glamour. And can we talk about that veil? “My dress had a beautiful long train so I chose a shorter veil to show it off,” Ashlee says. “And my gold halo headpiece was my favorite detail.”

Olivia and James’ wedding is the perfect combination of elegance and simplicity. From the sweet pinks to the soft greens, we are oh so in love. And Olivia’s Most Marry Moments are definitely something to scroll about.

Vowza Venue “Sleepy Ridge exudes elegance and romance to a tee! From the ironwrought chandelier and twinkling light drapery to the large French doors, this venue feels like an enchanted palace.”

Alluring Accessory “If I did had to pick just one, it would definitely have to be my veil. I always dreamed of having a long, dramatic veil for my wedding day.”

Special Song “Our wedding song was the acoustic version of ‘She is Love’ by Parachute. A few months prior we went to a ball, and as the night concluded this song came on. With tears in our eyes, we knew this was the perfect song for us.”

Prettiest Petals Having lots of greenery throughout the florals at the wedding was a must! There is something about greenery that brings a certain amount of romance and elegance. And with subtle blush and peach tones, it looked fantastic!”

Most Memorable Moment “It was at the end of the ring exchange ceremony. My hubby was so nervous that he dropped the ring! The laughter soon broke into silence as James held back tears and, after a long pause, professed his love for me. I will never forget the feeling I had that day standing across from him knowing that the love we shared for each other was real and unbreakable. I still get teary just thinking about it.”

May 1, 2016 // McCall + Tanner

McCall Modersitzki and Tanner Weekes’ dearly beloved tale began at someone else’s happily ever after. She was a bridesmaid. He was a groomsman. She thought he was darling. He thought she was cute. “He asked me out, but then I had to tell him I was only 17!” McCall says. “So he said, ‘Hopefully I’ll see you at BYU next year!’” And see each other they did. The pair went out a year later, and over the next five years they dated, wakeboarded and fell in love. After a proposal at Utah Lake (thus all the wakeboarding), the wedding planning began. “We originally wanted to elope, but being the oldest my mom really wanted to do the whole wedding thing — so I did it for her,” McCall says. “She and my wedding planner planned most of my wedding, and I let their creativity do most of the work. When I arrived at my reception, I was completely blown away. It was beautiful.” Among the beauty? Impeccable florals, divine vines, fabulous shades (tangerine orange, salmon pink, cream and succulent green), a delicious cake, festive favors, the perfect photographer, and the most supportive family and friends. “I know I originally didn’t even want a reception, but it was really special seeing everyone come out to support us,” McCall says. “And earlier that day, when we exited the LDS temple, all of our family and friends were there cheering and clapping for us. It was a moment I’ll never forget.”

MERRY MATRIMONY This Alpine girl married her Provo boy — and it was all captured by McKenzie Deakins. “We wanted the natural moments, and McKenzie was everything I wanted! She is also hilarious, so all the laughing pictures are real.”

GET THE PICTURE With flowers being a top priority, McCall’s theme naturally turned into a garden wedding. And with her love of succulents and the indoor-outdoor combination of Riverside Country Club, everything fell into place. On the day of the wedding, that perfection continued. “We both are so easy-going that nothing really went ‘wrong,’” McCall says. “The only thing is we were not expecting so many ‘plus-ones’ or ‘plus-fives,’ so we did not have enough food to feed everyone. Welcome to a Mormon wedding!”

June 27, 2015 // Nikki + Trent

Nikki Bohne and Trent Lloyd’s storybook romance makes even the fanciest fairy tales seem boring. After growing up towns apart (her in Highland, him in Draper), they finally found each other in Omaha, Neb. Trent moved there for work in 2014, and Nikki stopped through that May during her stint as the Glinda understudy in Broadway’s “Wicked.” A mutual friend suggested the two meet for lunch. Three weeks and dozens of dates later, they began their eventual cross-country courtship. “It was instantly easy,” Nikki says. “That year we traveled 96,000 miles to be together and clocked 816 hours on FaceTime.” On a snowy Saturday in NYC, their virtual connections led to a virtually perfect proposal. Nikki got off the subway, and her friend greeted her with an empty basket, a video camera and a Tiffany and Co. bag that held a timepiece necklace with a note saying, “This is for time …” As she walked down Broadway, random New Yorkers began putting white roses in her basket. She finally saw Trent in Central Park, standing on a candlelit staircase, waiting with a dozen more white roses (there were ultimately 200 total) and a ring for eternity. “I said ‘yes!’ before he was even able to finish the word ‘marry,’” she says. The engaging couple planned their Thanksgiving Point wedding from afar, and then traveled Europe for a month-long pre-honeymoon (and Paris bridals, obviously). “It was a big priority to us that our wedding be fun,” Nikki says. “In the end, it was all so completely perfect. But mostly, it was ours.”

GET THE PICTURE When it came to their rose-themed wedding day, Nikki and Trent made sure to stop and smell those roses — literally and figuratively. The morning-of, Nikki and her friends had a “brunch and beautify” party at The Little America, while Trent went golfing with his best guys. Those calm beginnings started the day off right and, well, rosey. For the reception, details were crucial to Nikki. There was an incredible floral photo booth wall. There was a map of their continental courtship. There were fun facts about the couple given to guests as golf carts transported them to the rose garden. And there was Nikki’s dog, Olive, looking fancy. The night was truly one big party — and even ended with a conga line to “Uptown Funk.”

P.S. You can check out Nikki’s proposal story and NYC engagements here, and her bridals in both Paris and American Fork here. YOU ARE WELCOME.

You’re making us blush. We are in love, love, love with all the pink, pink, pink. Blush dress. Blush florals. Blush vintage car. And the touches of gold and green make us blush all over again.

P.S. Did you notice the bride’s barefoot photos? We’re head-over-heels for them.

Best Bite “We had Cubby’s do all the salads for our wedding dinner, and that was definitely my favorite. Christian and I went to Cubby’s on our first date, so it was a fun shout-out to the very beginning of our relationship.”

Vivacious Vendor “Rachel from KyleeAnn Photography was our absolute favorite. I so appreciated her excitement each step of the way. We look like ourselves in her pictures. She kept us happy, and worked so well with our large wedding group pictures. We love Rachel!”

Alluring Accessory “My flower crown. I am a little bit of a hippie, nature child, so I loved having some flowers that I got to wear on such a special day.”

Prettiest Petals “I didn’t think I wanted huge a bouquet, but I loved it when I got it! I loved my bridesmaids’ ombre bouquets, going from white to dusty rose when they stood next to each other.”

Perfect Proposal “The proposal really was perfect! Christian and I drove up to Sundance for lunch. (We went on a drive to Sundance when we were first dating!) As we drove, Christian talked about that first drive we took and the many memories and dates since. Once we got to the parking lot, I knew something was up. Christian kept asking about my favorite memories and talking about why we fell in love. It was such a sweet conversation. He walked me on a little path, through the snow and pine trees and cabins, to a little bridge. He handed me a letter to read, which I did with teary eyes. He then quoted the last stanza of my favorite poem. He knelt down, told me how he would love me forever, and asked “Cara Christine Bassett, will you marry me?” I said yes as I took the ring and put in on my own finger — I was so excited! He proposed with a gold wire ring he had made himself while my custom ring was getting finished. It was such a personal touch…I still love that first ring!”

July 17, 2015 // Hunter + Mitchell

Hunter Kofford is a sentimental soul. So marrying her soul mate — high school sweetheart Mitchell Fowler — meant a wedding with the sweetest and sincerest of details. “I knew I wanted that sentimentality to be represented,” she says. “And my, oh my. I had dreamed about this day.” That dream included an intimate, close-to-home celebration. So her reception venue was the corral at the entrance of Randy’s Horse Pasture in Orem — a place she grew up taking walks and riding bikes as a kid. For vendors, she enlisted the help of her insanely talented family members — her mother and aunt, who own The Flower Affair, and her cousin, photographer Whitney Brailsford. Her custom gown, dazzling with beads and crystals, was hand-stitched to perfection. “I didn’t have many bridezilla-isms, but when it came to the dress, that’s where it came out,” she says. “But oh my heavens, my dress was marvelous.” And in true Hunter fashion, her seams were stitched with the most beautiful tribute. “I have a brother who passed away six years ago, and I wanted him to be close to me and my new husband on that day. So I had Paula, the dress wizard, cut a piece of Cooper’s shirt out and stitch it inside of my dress — close to my heart. It was my something blue. I also made a custom gold pin with Cooper’s name on it for Mitchell to wear on his lapel.” Hunter’s thoughtful planning led to a truly joyful affair. “From the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep as a Mrs., I was calm, collected and ready to marry the one I love.”

GET THE PICTURE From the grand reception entrance to the powerful petals to the cake-a-palooza, Hunter’s mash-up of gorgeous creativity created a truly one-of-a-kind celebration. “When people ask me what my colors were, I say, ‘All the colors — psychedelic!” she laughs. “But I especially loved the fall-ish colors in the middle of summer. I knew I wanted it to be different from all the weddings I had previously seen. And while my ideas of creating something organic, simple, elegant, slightly-gaudy and timeless were hard to mesh together, my mom and aunt pulled it off perfectly. It was elegance meets spunk.”

TOMS-FOOLERY “I walked into choir and saw that Mitchell was wearing the same pair of TOMs that I was. So I yelled across the room, ‘Hey! Do your Toms make your feet stink?’ He responded, ’Umm, no?’ Embarrassed (but not really), I said, ‘Oh! Well mine do!’ And that was how we met.”

These are seriously the best sugar cookies in the entire world! They are topped with this light, fluffy Italian buttercream, and it is to die for! The sprinkles were a cute touch, too.”

Sensational Seams “I loved how unique my dress was. The nude color and the beading are so beautiful. I was sick of seeing the same old things with lace, and I wanted something different. I found this on ASOS and instantly knew it would be perfect. And it was!”

Vowza Venue “I loved that the USU Botanical Center was surrounded by water and had lots of cute little bridges and walkways. It was nice that the guests had places to go outside if they wanted to walk around. I also loved the string lights we chose to have hung.”

Vivacious Vendor “I loved working with Connie, our photographer, and Tiffany Olsen, who did my makeup. I felt so comfortable around both of them and it made things so much less stressful.”

Most Memorable Moment “My favorite moment was walking out of the temple and realizing that we were really married! Best feeling ever. Having all our friends and family there made it so special.”
